If you need to leave a suitcase in Bruges, the two simplest public options are the lockers at Brugge railway station and those at Historium Brugge on Market Square. The station is the better choice when you arrive by train or carry a larger bag; Historium is more convenient once you are already in the historic centre.

The Provinciaal Hof next door also has lockers, but they are intended for people visiting the building rather than as a general city luggage service.

Brugge station lockers

The lockers are opposite the tourist office at Brugge station, Stationsplein 5.

There are five locker sizes, from S to XXL, with daily prices of €5, €7, €9.50, €11.50 and €14.50. Weekly rates are also available, and hourly supplements apply after the minimum one-day rental period.

A few details are worth knowing before you close the door:

  • payment is made at the locker terminal before you deposit the bag;
  • lockers can be reserved online in advance;
  • opening the locker ends the rental automatically, so it is not a come-and-go storage box under one booking;
  • collecting late can trigger a supplement, and contents are removed after 48 overdue hours.

The station's main hall is open from 03:30 to 02:10 on business days and 04:15 to 01:45 on weekends and public holidays. Locker-access hours are not published separately, so very early or late arrivals should not assume 24-hour access.

Historium lockers on Market Square

There are also lockers in the inner courtyard of Historium Brugge, Markt 1, available daily from 10:00 to 18:00.

This is the convenient choice if you are already sightseeing around Markt and do not want to walk back to the station. The Tourist Info Point is in the same building.

Historium does not publish a fixed current locker tariff or an advance-reservation system. The amount depends on locker size and rental duration, so the price displayed when you arrive is the useful one.

What about the Provinciaal Hof next door?

The Provinciaal Hof at Markt 3 has lockers in the basement because visitors are asked to store luggage and backpacks before entering.

That makes them useful during a visit to the building, but they should not be treated as a general left-luggage service for a day around Bruges. If you need to leave the building while a suitcase stays behind, ask the staff first rather than assuming that use is allowed.

A bookable private alternative

Private luggage networks can be useful when the station and Historium do not fit your route or opening time. If you want a canal boat ride first

The canal-boat companies do not provide lockers or suitcase storage at their embarkation points. A handbag or small rucksack can go aboard, but leave a larger case at the station or Historium first.
